The Daily Run With Za Roster
Run Streak Criteria:
-
By definition as give above, you must run at least ONE continuous mile every calendar day for a full 365 days or 100 days!
-
Within that mile there is no stopping or walking. If you fall down .3 miles into your run or stop at a stop light, you will have to start over.
-
Must be a run - definition: “move at a speed faster than a walk, never having both or all the feet on the ground at the same time”. -Merriam Webster
-
To accommodate everyone, walking is an option see below**
Make up your own rules!
Set your own minimum to run. Maybe you want to to the same thing at the same time everyday! Set your own rules, but try not to limit yourself or make it too hard for yourself. Remember the minimal rules. The measly mile is always an option!
The 100 day Club
Maybe one whole year seems like a lot to commit to. What if you just commit to a month to start. Or even 100 days, which is just over 3 months. You can also become part of the community by running or walking (same criteria) but for 100 consecutive calendar days.
The Comma Club
The comma club means 1,000 days of a run streak or MORE! You will be surprised, once you start the habit of a daily, continuing for a little less than three years is actually so possible!
Walkers!
Walkers can follow the same criteria and instead walk a continuous mile every calendar day for 100 day or a full 365 days.
**Be aware that walking does NOT count on the official Streak Runner’s International.
I don’t want to run or walk everyday, can I floss everyday instead?!
Yes, this is a real question. You can do whatever you want everyday, flossing is great. But The Daily Run With Za is about either running or walking everyday for 100 days or a year.
What happens if I get sick or injured?
Let’s be honest, it may happen. That is why many people do not believe in running everyday- risk of injury. It is also why we believe in the measly mile philosophy. We do not believe in hurting yourself in anyway in order to run. There are many things you can do to prevent injuries, be smart about it!
